Adjustments and Manipulation

chiropractic adjustment

A chiropractic adjustment, also known as chiropractic manipulation, manual manipulation, or spinal manipulation, is the primary chiropractic treatment method for back pain. But know that it is just one tool in the toolbox. If an adjustment will help your particular ailment we will offer it. Sometimes other therapies help more or can complement the treatment and we offer those as well.

Spinal manipulation relieves pressure on joints, improves mobility, reduces inflammation, and improves nerve function. It has been a trusted form of treatment since the ancient Greek Hippocrates documented manipulative techniques in his writings back in 1500 B.C.

How Does Spinal Manipulation Work?

Spinal manipulation relieves pressure on joints, improves mobility, reduces inflammation, and improves nerve function. It has been a trusted form of treatment since the ancient Greek Hippocrates documented manipulative techniques in his writings back in 1500 B.C.

When vertebrae shift out of place, there is not only a hinderance to the mechanical movement, but a neurologic response from the central nervous system. Without proper alignment, the transmission or normal flow of our nerves is hindered. Like the fraying of a wire or the pinching of a hose, the normal flow of sensory, motor, and the monitoring system between our brains, the spinal cord, and the rest of the body are interrupted. The nerve cannot function at their highest peak.

Overall, spinal adjustments and manipulations are an excellent way to keep the body functioning at its highest level without any discomfort. When the body is adequately aligned, it becomes able to respond and perform as it was built to do.
